Biographical / Historical

Sadsbury Preparative Meeting was established by New Garden Monthly Meeting in 1725. In 1737, the meeting became part of Sadsbury Monthly Meeting. At the time of the Hicksite Separation, which in this meeting occurred in 1830, two preparative meetings were formed. In the following year, the Orthodox preparative meeting moved to Simmonstown. It returned to Christiana in 1881 and was discontinued in 1919. Sadsbury Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1925. At that time, Sadsbury Monthly Meeting assumed all its business
