Biographical / Historical

Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting established a preparative meeting at Muncy in 1796 under Catawissa Monthly Meeting. The meeting was transferred to Muncy Monthly Meeting in 1799. At the time of the Hicksite Separation, no Hicksite branch of this preparative meeting was formed. Muncy Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) began to meet on an annual basis in 1938. It was later discontinued. In 1982, Muncy Preparative Meeting was re-established by Muncy Monthly Meeting.
