Gwynedd Preparative Meeting was established in 1702. In 1714, the preparative meeting was transferred to Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. In 1827,after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. In 1936, Gwynedd Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was established as Gwynedd Monthly Meeting at the dissolution of the first Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite). From 1936 to 1974, Gwynedd Preparative Meeting held annual sessions as a separate meeting for business of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting.

Men's Meeting and Joint

Official records of proceedings kept for all Quaker business meetings. Only Quakers could participate. Beginning at the end of the 19th century, men and women ceased to hold separate business meetings, meeting instead in joint session.
