Chester Quarterly Meeting was established by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1683; its first business sessions opened in 12mo 1683/84.In 1800, the name of this meeting was changed to Concord. After the Separation, there were two Concord Quarterly Meetings. The Hicksite and Orthodox branches merged in 1955, and several monthly meetings were transferred from Concord to the newly-formed Chester and Haverford Quarterly Meetings. Concord Quarterly Meeting is currently active.

Men's Meeting and Joint

Official records of proceedings kept for all Quaker business meetings. Only Quakers could participate. Beginning at the end of the 19th century, men and women ceased to hold separate quarterly meetings, meeting instead in joint session.

The meeting's name was changed from Chester Quarterly Meeting to Concord Quarterly Meeting in 1800 8mo12.

Committee which had care of the spiritual welfare of the meeting, particularly the meeting for worship. Ministry and Counsel committees were established in 1918 by Hicksite meetings, which no longer designated members as ministers or elders. The predecessor of Ministry and Counsel was the Quarterly Meeting of Ministers and Elders.
