Chester Quarterly Meeting was established by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1683; its first business sessions opened in 12mo 1683/84. In 1800, the name of this meeting was changed to Concord.

After the Separation, there were two Concord Quarterly Meetings. The Hicksite and Orthodox branches merged in 1955, and several monthly meetings were transferred from Concord to the newly-formed Chester Quarterly Meeting (1955- ) or to Haverford Quarterly Meeting. Chester Quarterly Meeting currently includes the monthly meetings of Chester, Media, Darby, Providence, Lansdowne, Springfield, and Swarthmore.

Records of Chester Quarterly Meeting since 1955. Included are: Minutes 1955-1973 and 1979-1982; Representative Committee minutes, 1965-1973 and 1979-1982; papers of the Committee to Study Quarterly Meeting, also known as the Ad Hoc Committee on Quarterly Meetings, 1964-1965.

Records of the first Chester Quarterly Meeting are described with the records of Concord Quarterly Meeting.
