			<head>SHORT HISTORY OF MEETING </head> 
			<p>An indulged meeting at Bordentown was established by Chesterfield Monthly Meeting in 1739. A preparative meeting was established in 1775, but discontinued in 1778. A second preparative meeting was established in 1804. The Orthodox preparative meeting and meeting for worship were discontinued in 1828 and the members transferred to Chesterfield Preparative Meeting. Bordentown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1878; its members were transferred to Chesterfield Preparative Meeting. Bordentown Meeting was discontinued by Burlington Quarterly Meeting in 1904. </p>

			<p>Monthly meeting records normally include minutes of men’s and women’s meetings for business and registers of births, deaths, marriages, removals (transfers), and disownments. In general, non-members are not mentioned in the minutes, even when they attended meeting for worship on a regular basis.</p>

Records</emph></unittitle> </did> <bioghist><p>At the time of the Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1827-28, pre-Separation vital records were generally retained by the branch with which the recorder was affiliated. Meeting and Joint</emph></unittitle> </did> <bioghist><p>Official records of proceedings kept for all Quaker business meetings.  Only Quakers could participate.  It has responsibility for care of members, authorizes removals and marriages, maintains discipline, considers the queries, manages meeting property, fosters social concerns, and reports regularly to the quarterly meeting.
