After a couple of years of discussion, Warrington and Fairfax Quarterly Meeting was divided into two in 1787. Included under Fairfax were Hopewell, Fairfax, Crooked Run, Westland, and Goose Creek meetings. During the Separation of 1828, Fairfax Quarterly Meeting affiliated with the Hicksite branch of Friends. It was laid down in 1951, and its members became part of the newly-established Potomac Quarterly Meeting (United).

Records of Fairfax Quarterly Meeting, 1787-1951. Includes men's and joint minutes 1787-1951, women's minutes 1787-1889, Ministers and Elders minutes 1820-1950, committee records 1793-1856, and miscellaneous 1866-1870.

Notes to Researchers

Early records of Warrington and Fairfax Quarterly Meeting are described in the finding aid for Warrington Quarterly Meeting.

Vol. 1.8 includes treasurers' reports and misc. correspondence. Vol. 3.5 includes a report from Alexandria Monthly Meeting Ministry and Counsel to Fairfax Quarterly Meeting and miscellaneous correspondence.
