"More Information than You Require," and "The Areas of My Expertise," the two satirical almanacs by John Hodgman. These books are necessary reading for being alive.

Michelle Tea's Rent Girl is listed as lost in Tripod. Could we get a replacement copy, please?

Charles - I've requested that we purchase both titles. Until they get here, you might want to check out this video - John Hodgman: A brief digression on matters of lost time (http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/john_hodgman_s_brief_digression.html)!

Can the library get a copy of Brisingr? It's the third in a trilogy of which the library has the first two.

"Touch the Sound" - awesome documentary film that explores the connections among sound, rhythm, time, and the body by following percussionist Evelyn Glennie, who is nearly deaf.

Ivana - Thanks for the suggestion! I've passed your request along to the bibliographers for review.

Can we please add this to our DVD collection:
Generation Kill (2008)
"Based on the national best-selling book by Evan Wright, Generation Kill is an authentic and vividly detailed 7 part HBO mini-series event that presents a uniquely epic and intimate portrait of the first 40 days of the Iraq war from the perspective of the Marines of the First Recon Battalion – a new breed of American soldiers. Written and produced by Emmy-award winner David Simon (the Wire), and also produced by the award-winning George Faber (Elizabeth I)."

If you're looking to get more TV-on-DVD series, I'd recommend Dexter, from Showtime. It's a crime/forensics show like CSI, except the main character is himself a serial killer.

Dexter - Are you crazy???
It's a light crime/forensics show and different from CSI !!!

It would be spectacular if the library got more of Keith Smith's bookbinding books. The one that Swat has (Non-adhesive) is always out and the others in his manuals are interesting too.

Could we get a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? (Jane Austen/Seth Grahame-Smith) I tried requesting it through ILL, but they couldn't get it anywhere.
Kate Carter said on April 13, 2009 9:44 AM:[link to this]
Aimee: Sometimes it's difficult to get new popular books like that through ILL. I'll see if we can order a copy though!

Could we buy "Language, Space, and Social Relationships" by Giovanni Bennardo? The url on my name gives more information, but the isbn is 9780521883122.

can we get "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson? As well as the other books from that series (Millenium Trilogy): "The Girl who Played with Fire" and "Castles in the Sky"
Kate Carter said on June 12, 2009 12:44 PM:[link to this]
N. - Thanks for the suggestions! I've sent them all along to our bibliographers and see what we can do about getting the first title at least - The Girl Who Played with Fire isn't out until later this month, and Castles in the Sky is due out Jan. 2010!
