Could the tri-co libraries get a copy of The whole world was watching : living in the light of Matthew Shepard, by Romaine Patterson? It's a really good book.
Thanks!

May I recommend "My Custom Van: And 50 Other Mind-Blowing Essays that Will Blow Your Mind All Over Your Face", a wholesome comedy, by Michael Ian Black? Perfect for Quita's Corner!

Can the library get Sugargirls and Seamen by Henry Trotter? It's a book about dockside prostitution in Cape Town that I read an excerpt from at a book fair in Cape Town which sounds really interesting!

I'd love it if the library could get a copy of "Uncertain Peril" by Claire Hope Cummings. The book would help expand Bryn Mawr's environmental studies collection, as would "The Soul of Soil" (Joseph Smillie, Grace Gershuny).
Arleen Zimmerle said on August 4, 2008 11:14 AM:[link to this]
Thanks, Anna! We'll be adding these soon.

I would love it if the library would acquire a copy of "Czech Dream" (2004, 2007 USA) a fascinating recent Czech documentary. (Preferably one with English subtitles)

Kyle - We actually ordered a copy on 8/5, and we're just waiting for it to get here. You can put a hold on it at the circulation desk if you'd like!

I just came across this intriguing documentary by PBS and Independent Lens. "Please Vote for Me," a look at "democracy" in an elementary school in China, seems like it would be a fascinating DVD for anyone interested democracy or China.

Is it possible to add a "comments" section to tripod listings, maybe like the reviews you can read on Amazon.com?
Lynn said on September 14, 2008 6:41 AM:[link to this]
Could we possibly get The Books of Albion by Peter Doherty?
Kate Carter said on September 15, 2008 4:52 PM:[link to this]
Harry - We've actually been thinking a lot lately about including additional content like comments! There are a few options: We could get a system that allows people to leave comments or rank books, we could bring the reviews from Amazon right into Tripod too (but we'd need to include a link back to buy the book), or we could subscribe to reviews and add them to Tripod. I'm glad to hear you're interested in them!
Kate Carter said on September 15, 2008 4:57 PM:[link to this]
Lynn - I'll see what we can do! I've just sent your request to the bibliographers.
