Please ask Haverford to change their policy on overdue fines. The difference between colleges is quite confusing (and potentially harmful).

I just finished watching the film (that BMC has) called Vampiros en la Habana. I was delighted to learn that there's a sequel to this great movie...but less happy to learn that BMC does not have Mas Vampiros en la Habana. Could we get it, please?

I was wondering if the Trico could acquire well-known, controversial films like "Salo: 120 Days of Sodomy," "Fun," "Caligula," and so on. Basically, any movie that could make it onto a list of "The 20 most shocking movies ever made." This is good for academic work that exploresthe representation of shocking material in film.

Hi, Teresa: Thanks for your suggestion. One reason we haven't purchased MAS VAMPIROS EN LA HABANA yet is that it hasn't been released with English subtitles. If this isn't a problem for you, let me know at library@brynmawr.edu, and we'll order a copy!

Dear Jenny,
Our fine policies and Haverford's are the same, with only very few exceptions. If you have a specific question about a fine or feel you were incorrectly charged, please feel free to contact me and I'll try my best to help.

Dear DJ,

Thanks for your suggestions. "Salo" and "Fun" are currently out of print, but we can purchase a copy of "Caligula." I'll let you know when it arrives.

We've been purchasing more exploitation films recently, and the tri-co libraries already own a number of videos that are considered "shocking" for one reason or another. See the interesting list of films at FilmSite:
http://www.filmsite.org/controversialfilms.html

We own quite a few of these! I'll take another look at the list and see if there's anything else that would be useful.

I would love it if the Tri-co would purchase the Japanese film "Train Man" (Densha Otoko). Thanks!

Thanks, Jillian! We will order "Train Man" and let you know when it arrives!

For Quita's Corner, some books written by J.G. Ballard like Running Wild or Super-Cannes would be an interesting add

Thanks, Teresa! We'll be ordering those soon.

Hello,
It would be great if, in the future, you had DVD copies (whenever available) of movies that are put on reserve for film studies courses. Some patrons find the DVD commentaries to be valuable resources for a paper, and VHS tapes do not have these. Thanks.

Hi, DJ. Thanks for this reminder about commentaries! We do try to purchase dvd copies for film studies courses, but sometimes the dvd is out of print, or difficult to obtain. Always let us know if there is a specific title you need to have, and we'll see what we can do!

Would it be possible to acquire some seasons of The Office (US version)?

It would also be nice to have The Book of General Ignorance by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson and Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgeman for Quita's corner.

I have some suggestions for Quita's Corner:
The Book of General Ignorance by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson
Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgeman
And it would be nice to have the US version of The Office around. Also, I know that Haverford had a comic book collection a while back. Do you konw if it still exists? I ask because I notice we're buying a lot more graphic novels, and if Haverford's collection of comics is gone, iit would be nice if we started acquiring some trade paperbacks

one more thing: I know Swat says they have How To Cook Everything Vegetarian, but I've tried three times this year to request it and I have not been successful. Could we possibly get a copy for ourselves?

Thanks for all your good suggestions, Lavanya! They look like they'd be great additions.
