I've noticed that a lot of the DVDs I've borrowed from Swat are dirty, and most of them are scratched, some to the point that it's hard to watch parts of them. One of those machines that cleans and repairs CDs and DVDs (the big kind they have at video stores) might be a worthwhile investment at some point.

Hi Aimee - A lot of our DVDs are dirty, you're right. When a patron lets us know that a DVD is scratched, we'll clean it, but unfortunately, we have so many DVDs right now, and only one little cleaner, that it's impossible for us to clean them all. The more industrial kind is a great idea though - I'll look into it! Thanks!

Hey my English class finished reading Macbeth a couple weeks ago, but I've just recently came across this "modern" cinematic version of the play: http://www.amazon.com/Macbeth-Gary-Sweet/dp/B000SIWH0U/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1203725435&sr=8-1
We should add this to our collection!

Can we get "PACKAGE DESIGN IN JAPAN BIENNIAL" every year? We have an older edition currently...but I think that it would be amazing if we got each edition starting now because they are great resources for the Japanese Visual Culture class! Also, it's just a lot of fun to flip through them...

BTF - Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see if we can add it to the collection.

JVCF - It does seem like we only have vol. 8, from 1999. I'll talk to the bibliographers about adding more recent volumes!

The tripod does not have a very wide selection of African movies. Most of those we have are old movies that are not apt portrayals of Africa now.
Considering that the movie industry in Africa is presently booming, I wish to suggest that we increase our collection. Thanks!

Debbie - Great suggestion! I'll pass this along to our bibliographers. Are there any titles you'd recommend?

Can we have Oreos everyday? And maybe refill bucket at at midnight.

Shine - Coffee and snacks are courtesy of Dining Services, so we leave it to their judgment about what and how much is available. I'll certainly pass your suggestion along to them though!

MTV made a modern musical version of Wuthering Heights (directed by Suri Krishnamma) that I think would make a really fun addition to the movie collection.

Ali - Great suggestion! I'll look into ordering it!
