Haverford After Party at Magill Winners
This year’s Open House for first year students featured contests and raffles along with information booths, Web page demos, tabling by campus groups and student clubs, and tours of the Cricket Library and the best study spots.
Congratulations to Megan Warres, winner of the iPod raffle. Alex Warres (Megan’s brother) and Julia Bravin won the coveted composer bobbleheads from the Music Library. Andrew Lipstein won the bookstore certificate from the Science Library, while Jennifer Rodriquez won the Disney stuffed Pluto in honor of the discredited planet.
Contest winners who came closest to guessing the number of items (67,338) checked out of Haverford’s libraries last year were Nicholas Sher and Meredith Sine. Hannah-Ruth Miller won when she guessed the number of sheets of paper used by the public printers in the libraries last year (1,307,357). Lara Pollack came in a close second.

How does one go about choosing a number like 1,307,357? And then to be right! Good job, Hannah.
