A blast from the past for your research!

Do you remember using the Reader's Guide for Periodical Literature to find journal or magazine articles?

We've always had the old print index here at Canaday Library, where librarians have taught students to use it to find historical Newsweek articles, old movie reviews, and stories about Watergate, the Titanic, and other important events across time.

The print volumes can be tedious to use, but they have been the only way to find articles from American popular periodicals across the twentieth century -- until now!

Reader's Guide Retrospective Online provides access to all of the citations in the print Reader's Guide, from 1890 through 1982.   Now you can search across multiple years with one click!  And you can use the green FindIt! (or MORE!) button to quickly determine if we have access to the full article text.

Try it today: go to Reader's Guide Retrospective, then make sure to click the check-box near the top of the screen to limit your search to this source.  Happy searching!
