Online journals from the 1800s! Dissertation previews! Try these databases

The Trico libraries are testing out several online resources, and we need your opinion!  Please check out the list, try any that strike your interest, and fill out a feedback form.  Your feedback is invaluable as we decide whether to subscribe to these resources.

The trial databases include:

  • American Periodical Series Online (American magazines and journals published from 1741 through 1900 in PDF format, including Maclure's, Vanity Fair, and lots of popular women's magazines)
  • ProQuest Digital Dissertations and Theses ("Dissertation Abstracts Online" plus the full page image and/or the first 24 pages (PDF) of all dissertations published or digitized since 1996)
  • Periodicals Archive Online (full text and page image of scholarly journals in the arts, humanities and social sciences, from 1802-1995)

Access these resources at the Trial Databases page.  Thanks for your help!  And act fast: these trials end in the middle of July!
