Statistical abstract of the United States

[Print and online; see Tripod.] This is a compendium and guide to statistics on just about everything in the United States. The section on "Business Enterprises" includes incorporations, failures, small business data, and tax returns. Among the several appendixes is a list of state statistical abstracts.
World almanacs
Includes the contents of: the World Almanac and Book of Facts, the
World Almanac of the U.S.A., the World Almanac of U.S. Politics, and
the World Almanac for Kids. Biographies, encyclopedia entries and
statistics are also included. Covers 1998-present.
International:
CIA world fact book
Provides detailed profiles of all of the countries of the world. Offers information on each country's geography, people, government, economy, communications, military, and transnational issues, as well as maps and flag images. Covers 2000 - present in PDF; current interactive edition is continually updated.
International financial statistics

Contains time series data for most IMF members (over 200 countries) including data on a country's exchange rates, international liquidity, money and banking accounts, interest rates, production, prices, international transactions, government accounts, and national accounts as well as commodity and trade statistics. Also contains area and world tables for selected series. Covers 1993-present.

World Development Indicators contains development data covering more than 575 indicators, 225 countries,and 18 regional and income groups. An extensive collection of data that includes population, income, social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators. Covers 1960-present.
Public Opinion Polls:
Polling the nations
A compilation of more than 14,000 surveys conducted by more than 700 polling organizations in the United States and more than 80 other countries from 1986 to the present. All the surveys reported were conducted using scientifically selected random samples. Covers 1986-present.
Roper Center public opinion archives
Provides access to data from nearly a half million questions asked on national public opinion surveys, 1935 to present. Users can search the "iPOLL Databank" which is organized at the question level, or search at the dataset level using "RoperExpress" which allows immediate download of about 75% of the Center's public opinion studies conducted in the US from 1935 to present, and many recent studies from outside of the US.
