Uppsala Conflict Data Program
A free access, high quality global conflict database established by the Uppsala Universitet of Sweden, important for the systematic studies of the origins of conflict, conflict dynamics and conflict resolution. The data is collected based on activities during one calendar year even if conflicts may start and/or end at dates that do not fit this pattern. The emphasis is on the year as the basis for comparison and computation.
Datasets are freely downloadable covers conflicts since 1989 on a large number of variables relevant for conflict analysis. A dataset with data from 1946 on a limited number of variables (UCDP/PRIO dataset) is also available. [PRIO is the International Institute of Peace Research, Oslo]

Conflict Deaths and Country Case Studies (The Small Arms Survey)
Small Arms Survey is an independent research project located at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. The staff works closely with a worldwide network of researchers to collect many otherwise hard to find country case studies and briefings.
Correlates of War Datasets
The Correlates of War Project maintains and extends data that was first compiled by in 1963 by J. David Singer, a political scientist at the University of Michigan. The goal is "not just to measure the temporal and spatial variation in war but rather to identify factors that would systematically explain this variation" [Project History page].

This book presents new and critical data recorded at the INDEPTH research siteshealth and demographic status of their local populations. Starting with a description of the basic methods used, this volume summarizes mortality data, compares mortality patterns at INDEPTH sites (with information on 1 billion people in the southern hemisphere), and reports on mortality patterns for Africa. Great source of on-the-ground reporting on ongoing crises the data for which have not yet been gathered and analyzed. A potential source for many briefings and analytical reports.
