Not as interdisciplinary as the Encyclopedia of Islam. Also some articles and bibliographies have not been updated from the 1987 edition.

Despite it's title, many of the articles discuss the topic from early Islam to the present.
Encyclopedia of Islamic civilisation and religion

Has shorter entries than other works. Bibliographies are often only one citation.
