Finding Video and Sound Recordings:
The International Center for African Music and Dance (ICAMD) of the University of Ghana has given Swarthmore College some of its video archives including the Inaugural Conference for ICAMD held at the University of Ghana in the year 2000, the first conference for the Dance of Our Ancestors Festival which was held at Swarthmore College in 2005 and field recordings documenting the traditions of the Upper West Region, the annual National Festival of Arts and Culture, and community events such as funerals. A list describing the contents of the collection is available from the Performing Arts Librarian or Professor Yartey.
