Books (Online & Print)
Genes and Disease
This is a virtual book consisting of a series of articles on human genetic diseases. Currently over 80 genetic disorders have been summarized, and the content of Genes and Disease is continually growing. From Genes and Disease, link to other online resources – e.g. consumer-oriented descriptions of the disease (see Porphyria example) and search for more articles in PubMed, or find the location of the genes implicated in each disorder. You can also find related gene sequences in different organisms. And for the very latest information, you can search for complete research articles in PubMed, and look in other books in the NCBI Bookshelf. Also look in MedlinePlus (easy-to-understand medical encyclopedia).
