Instructions for Using ENW with Sociology & Anthropology Databases:
Sociological Abstracts (CSA)
• Mark the citations you want to save by selecting the box next to title.
• Select Save, Print, Email.
• Scroll down page. SAVE: Choose PC/Mac. (select one).
• A file named csaresults.txt is created. Save this to disk.
• If it isn’t open already, log in to your Endnote Web account.
• Under COLLECT REFERENCES, select IMPORT.
• Locate the csaresults.txt file – type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select Sociological Abs (CSA) filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
AnthroSource
• Run your search.
• Select the records you want to save by selecting the box next to the title.
• Select SEND TO CITATION MANAGER.
• Select Endnote format and unselect DIRECT IMPORT. Click on the 'download article citation data' button.
• A window with the citations listed in plain text will appear in your browser.
• COPY AND PASTE INTO A WORD DOCUMENT AND NAME THE FILE WITH A .txt ending.
• Open Endnote Web.
• Under COLLECT REFERENCES, select IMPORT REFERENCES.
• Locate the download Citation file – type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select Endnote Import as the filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
Web of Science
• Run your search.
• Select the records you want to send to ENW. If you want to send ALL of the records, scroll to the bottom of the screen & select All records on page under Output Records. If you have multiple pages of records, you will need to do this on every page - OR – you can specify the RANGE of records and be sure to include 1 to the last record in your search. [You can also select your citations, then click SAVE TO MARKED LIST at the top of the page. Then when you have gone through all of your citations, select the MARKED LIST link at the very top of the page. From here you can export to Endnote Web.]
• Select how much of the citation you want to export: Author, Title, Source (with or without abstract) – or – Full Record (with or without CITED REFERENCES).
• Select the Save to EndNote Web. If you are not already logged in to ENW, you will be taken to a log in screen.
• You will then get a PROCESSING RECORDS screen which will record progress of records being exported to Endnote Web. At this point, you can go back to Web of Science to continue searching & sending more records to Endnote Web, or you can go directly to ENW by selecting the My Endnote Web tab at the top of this screen. (You may need to log again to your Endnote Web Account.)
• You will be taken to your ALL MY REFERENCES page. If you have citations previously saved and not in folders, you may need to search for the latest imported citations. But if your citations are in folders, these latest citations will be listed as UNFILED. You can then put them in a file you create or leave them in this unfilled list.
JSTOR

• Run your search.
• Mark the citations you want to save by selecting the box next to title.
• Select the Export article citations box.
• Select one option: Endnote.
• A file named downloadCitation is created. Save to disk.
• If it isn’t open already, log in to your Endnote Web account.
• Under COLLECT REFERENCES, select IMPORT.
• Locate the downloadCitation file – type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select JSTOR filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (ERIC & PsycInfo)
• Mark the citations you want to save by selecting the box next to title.
• Select Save, Print, Email.
• Scroll down page. SAVE: Choose PC/Mac. (select one).
• A file named csaresults.txt is created. Save this to disk.
• If it isn’t open already, log in to your Endnote Web account.
• Under COLLECT REFERENCES, select IMPORT.
• Locate the csaresults.txt file – type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select ERIC (CSA) or PsycInfo (CSA) filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
ProQuest
• MARK the records you want to send to ENW by clicking in box next to citation (or MARK ALL by clicking in the box at top of citations).
• Select EXPORT.
• Select Download in a format compatible with ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager and RefWorks.
• Click Save As on the browser's File menu, and save as text file (.txt). The file will be called pdqweb and will be on your desktop.
• If it isn’t open already, log in to your Endnote Web account.
• Under the COLLECT tab, select IMPORT REFERENCES.
• Locate the citations.txt file - type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select Proquest filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
WorldCat (to find BOOKS beyond Tripod…)
• Mark the citations you want to save by clicking the box next to the number.
• Select MARKED RECORDS at top of screen.
• Select EXPORT. EXPORT TO text file (not Endnote – it’s not the correct version!)
• Select EXPORT again & a window will open – SAVE TO DISK. A file called DirectExport.txt Swill open on desktop.
• Go to ENW. Select Import.
• Select your file to import. Select Worldcat (OCLC) import filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
Google Scholar
• Before running your search, select the SCHOLAR PREFERENCES link from the search screen.
• Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to Bibliography Manager. Select Show links to import citations into … and select ENDNOTE from the drop-down menu.
• Return to the search screen & run your search. There will now be an Import into Endnote link below each citation. When you select it, a text file called enw.txt appears on your desktop. There is no way to MARK citations in Google Scholar, so each citation must be saved as an individual file.
• If it isn’t open already, log in to your Endnote Web account.
• Under COLLECT REFERENCES, select IMPORT.
• Locate the citations.txt file - type in the name or do a BROWSE on your computer.
• Select Endnote filter.
• Select WHERE you want the records to go. You can: 1. create a new group 2. select an already created group or 3. select UnFiled.
• Click the import button and the records from the txtfile will come into the file you selected.
